What is the use of the WordPress Manager

Create or Discover WordPress Sites

Steps to Create:

  • Firstly, the user has to click on New Site at the top of the interface.

Manage Site

For this, the user has to locate it in the list and click on Manage. The Site will appear and display the WordPress site’s configuration. Tabs visible at the left side of the interface characterize the features.

Items with descriptions:

  • Site URL: URL to the site’s home page.
  • Location on Disk: Site’s directory path, relative to the cPanel account’s home directory.
  • Current Version: Site’s WordPress version.

Automatic Update:

To update minor and security options, click on Enable minor and security updates only option. If all the configurations are to be updated, then Enable all updates option. Disable both these above options to stop the working of the updates.

Administration:

Use the menu in selecting the username to update the password  under WordPress Administrator Username. After clicking on Change User’s Password, enter and confirm the new password in specific text boxes. Finally, click on Change Password, storing the new password. If not, then click on Cancel.

Database:

Click on ‘Change User’s Password’  under ‘Database Username’, enter and confirm the new password in specific text boxes, and click on ‘Change Password’, storing the new password. If not, then click on ‘Cancel’.

Backup:

  • Backup Location: Site’s backup directory path, relative to the cPanel account’s home directory.
  • Last Backup: Name of the last backup file.
  • Backup Date: Time and date of the last backup.

Click on ‘Backup Now’ to back up the WordPress site. The system will back up and notify when completed.

To restore, select desired back up from the ‘Available Backups’  menu, click on Restore Now and confirm your selection by clicking on Confirm.
