The cPanel & WHM uses the /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/find_outdated_services script for analyzing whether they need a restart or not after the system gets updated.
In cPanel & WHM version 70, there is a support provided for a file granting the system administrators in acknowledging the alterations to refuse it from the check.
If a user desires to refuse a process from the /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/find_outdated_services script, he can log in to the server’s command line being a root user and enumerate that process to the /etc/cpanel/local/ignore_outdated_services file.
This file would apply this format:
The service name should be the same while appearing in the process table. Apply the ps command with the needed flags for enlisting the processes (for example, ps -aux).
User can use these commands to first create a file and then arrest the cloud-init and cloud-final services from the restart checkpoints:
mkdir -p /etc/cpanel/local
echo -e “# For barring cPanel from checking the cloud-init and cloud-final services\ncloud-init\ncloud-final” >> /etc/cpanel/local/ignore_outdated_services
Here in the example, the /etc/cpanel/local/ignore_outdated_services file will have:
# Prevent cPanel from checking about the cloud-init service
