Backup Contents

Download A Full Web Site Backup

The Download a Full Web Site Backup option can be used in creating, downloading and restoring a full backup file that will have the /home directory, databases, email forwarders, and filters.

Generate A Full Backup

Steps:

  1. Select the appropriate destination for storage from the Backup Destination menu:
    • Home Directory: for saving the backup file on the server section.
    • Remote FTP Server: for using FTP in cumulating the file (backup) on a remote server.
    • Remote FTP Server (passive mode transfer): for using passive FTP in cumulating the file (backup) on a remote server.
    • Secure Copy (SCP): for using SCP in cumulating the file (backup) on a remote server.
  2. If you want to get the backup completion notification, type your email address in the Email Address text box, and if you want to ignore it, click on Do not send email notification of backup completion
  3. In case the user has chosen the FTP, passive FTP or SCP destinations from the Backup Destination menu, he has to enter the remote destination’s data in their respective text boxes.
  4. Click on Generate Backup.

Account Backups

Suppose a user wants to download a full backup file that is already existing, he can choose that file’s filename from the Account Backups menu. The backup file’s creation date will be mentioned as MM-DD-YYYY, where MM will refer as month, DD is day and YYYY as year.

Partial Backups

This will back up the partial portions of the user’s account.

Download A Partial Backup

For downloading the entire /home directory, the SQL databases, the email forwarders and filters, user has to click on the desired items to get downloaded. This will download the backup as .gz file.

Restore A Partial Backup

Steps:

  • Click on Choose File from seeing appropriate heading.
  • Choose the desired backup file from the computer.
  • Finally, click on the Upload option to start the restoring procedure.

System Backups

This will appear only if the hosting provider of the user enables the system backups, else not.

This can be used in downloading a compressed replicate of your website’s files. The user can choose the up-to-date monthly, weekly, or daily backup for this procedure.
