This feature allows one to protect or secure definite directories in one’s cPanel account’s files. By enabling this feature, the system will prompt the users to log in when they make an attempt to view a secured or protected folder.
To enable this feature, one must perform these steps and click on Save.
It is to note that one can remove password protection from a directory by deselecting the Password protect this directory checkbox. Then, click on Save.
It needs to be noted that this name only functions as a label for the directory. One should not confuse it with the directory’s actual name.
After the completion of this process, one must create a user which can access this directory.
It is to note that in order to change an existing user’s password, one needs to enter the user’s information and the new desired password. After that, click on Save.
The directory’s existing authorized users list is maintained by the Authorised Users menu. In order to delete a user, one can select that particular user and click on Delete User. Thereafter a confirmation message will appear. Then one can click on Go Back to return to the directory’s configuration.
