With this command, your session is automatically changed to the home directory. This also downloads the cPanel and WHM’s latest version. Upon download, the installation script is automatically run.

System Requirements

It is important to take all these system requirements in mind before installing cPanel and WHM. However, these are just minimum requirements that you would most likely have if you are a web host or an admin.

License

This is the most important requirement that you should have. You have to get a licence for your IP address by visiting the cPanel store. If you want to try it first, you may maximize the test licenses without pay for 15 days. The trial license will be your guide. However, you don’t need a license when installing cPanel DNSONLY.

Networking Requirements

Before installation, make sure you have the following:

  • Registered Qualified Hostname
  • Valid IP Address
  • Well-configured Ethernet Devde
  • Firewalls – OS firewalls disabled, then third-part client shall be configured after installation

Hardware Requirements

  • OS – CentOS, CloudLinux, RHEL Version 5-7 (depending on the number of websites you will be supporting)
  • RAM – 768 MB (Minimum) and 1 GB (Maximum)
  • Disk Space – 20 GB (Minimum) and 40 GB (Maximum)
  • Architecture – 32-bit to 64-bit

You have to take note on the volume of websites you will be supporting. The bigger the database and the larger the email addresses that will be associated to the website, the larger the power, RAM and disk space you should have. The kind of activities that your website will support will also matter. Hosting videos, music and large applications will require bigger disk space and RAM.

To install cPanel and Web Host Manager from BuycPanel, you need to have an additional disk space of 3 GB to give way to staging. Failure to meet the requirements will disable the installation.

However, you have an option to call the technical support team of BuycPanel so they get to check your system before the installation. Should you have any problems with requirements, they will advise you to upgrade your system before WHM is installed.
