How to Set up Your cPanel Email Account on an Android Device

Its constant improvement on functionality and features in every new version that it releases has gained the attention of a lot of people who are now slowly switching to using these devices as their main gadget for their personal and business needs.

To link your cPanel email account into your Android device, simply follow the instructions given below.

Setting up Your cPanel Email Account on an Android Device

To link your cPanel email account into your Android device, simply follow the instructions given below.

Step 1: In your Android device, locate and tap the Applications icon.

Note: The Applications icon is usually located in the main screen of your Android device. If it is not on the main screen, just browse through the icons on your device and tap on it when you are able to locate it.

Step 2: After tapping the Applications icon, the Applications menu screen will appear displaying several options that you can choose from. Find the Email option in the Applications menu screen and tap on it.

Step 3: Your device will now display the Account Setup screen where you will be required to enter some information in order to link your cPanel email account.

Step 4: In the Account Setup screen, enter your cPanel email address that you wish to link to your Android device and then enter the corresponding password associated with it in the fields provided.

Step 5: After entering the information needed, tap on the Manual Setup option button on the screen to continue with the email setup.

Step 6: On the screen that will appear, select IMAP instead of POP3 on the mailbox type option list.

Note: If you prefer to choose POP3 it will download your emails from your cPanel server and then delete it. We recommend that you create a cPanel backup for your email before you setup your cPanel email account in your Android devices if you opt to use the POP3 mailbox type option.

Step 7: After choosing IMAP as your mailbox type for your Android device, a new screen will appear asking you to enter the following cPanel email account details:

  • Username – enter your cPanel email address.
  • Password – enter your password for your selected email address.
  • IMAP server – enter the associated mail domain for your cPanel email account entered.
  • SSL/TLS – select the security type that you wish to use for your email setup.

Step 8: After entering the information needed, tap on the Next button.

Step 9: The next screen will require you to enter another batch of information that is needed to link your cPanel email account. Enter the required information and then tap on the Next button.

Step 10: Your device will now display a screen asking you to select your preferred email account settings. Choose the configuration that you want and tap on the Next button.

Step 11: The next screen will ask you to enter the account display name. Enter your chosen account name and tap the Next button to finish the cPanel email setup.

Congratulations! You can now send and receive the messages of your cPanel email account on your Android device.
