More Options Under the User Preferences Interface of Your cPanel Account

Posted by Alex on 28 03 2017.

Under the User Preferences interface of your cPanel account, you can perform various changes, modifications, and configurations. Here, you can change your passwords, create stronger passwords, enable the external authentication process, as well as link and unlink accounts with the external authentication.

However, there are several other options in this interface that you will find really useful. Here are the other options you should check out the next time you log in to your cPanel account.

Language Changes

One of the other features you will find in the User Preferences interface is the “Change Language” option. With this, you can select your preferred language settings you want to use with your cPanel account.

When you want to change the current language of your cPanel interface, just follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the user menu interface and locate the “Change Language” option. Click on it.
  2. A window will appear that contains a list of all the available languages you can change to from English. Look for the particular language you want to use, and then select it. You will do this from the menu of the “Select a language” option.
  3. Click on the button labelled “Change.” After doing this, the interface automatically refreshes, and the interface will now display in the new language you just selected.

A few reminders though. First, is that whenever you change the language settings of your cPanel interface, it makes use of a cookie in the browser you used. This cookie will only last for one year. When you want to continue using the language, just perform the same steps enumerated above. You would also have to do this whenever you log in to your Webmail account using a different browser or when you delete cookies.

Another thing about the Languages feature has something to do with Accept-Language header of the browser you use. Having this feature set, the cPanel login interface will try to show the locale corresponding to the settings of your browser. Unavailable of the locale in your preferred browser’s header requests will result in the login interface displaying in English.

Style Changes

You can also perform modifications to your cPanel’s interface style. To do this, just follow these three steps.

  1. Navigate to the user menu and look for the “Change Style” option. Click on it.
  2. Browse through the different styles available and once you find one you like, select it.
  3. Click on the “Apply” button. Once you have done this, the interface refreshes and displays the style you just selected.

Contact Information Changes

Sometimes, your contact details change because you have a new phone number, address, or email address. You can replace the existing information with the new ones via the “Contact Information” interface. Follow these steps to make the necessary changes.

  1. Head to your user menu and choose the “Contact Information” option.
  2. Fill in and replace all the appropriate information you want to modify.
  3. Click on the “Save” button.

Resetting your Current cPanel Interface Settings

In the event you want all the changes you made to go back to the default settings, you can also do it under the User Preferences interface. Just head to the user menu and locate and click the option for “Reset Page Settings.” This will result in the interface replacing the changes you made with the default values as well as appearance.
