Becoming a cPanel reseller is a great branding move because you get to associate your company with one of the world’s leading hosting platforms. Not only that, you can take the credit for your customers’ cPanel experiences by customizing the control panel with your own corporate identity elements, or your client’s branding.
Where To Customize In cPanel
Once you have logged into WHM, click on the Customization button under cPanel. This is the section where you can customize the visible branding elements such as your company name, the URL for your customers to get Help or Support, the link to cPanel documentation and where you can upload your company logo. You can also upload a smaller logo for Webmail use, as well as your own corporate favicon.
cPanel also offers you a choice of themes, where you can choose your favorite, or upload your own custom look.
The ABC Of Creating A New Theme In cPanel
Once you are logged into WHM, click on the Branding button under the cPanel title.
Select the “Live Editor” of the theme you want to manage. cPanel dashboards are set to show X3 by default.
Select “Create or Upload Branding”, and then type in a name for your brand under the heading “Create a new branding style” and select “Create”.
Once your new brand has been created you will see a confirmation message in your dashboard. Then select “Go Back To Branding Editor”. Your newly created brand will be listed as one of the default options.
Modifying Your New Theme In cPanel
Your newly created theme should now be visible in the “Branding Editor” page. To modify it, click on the “Edit This Style” instruction below the new brand.
Now you should see the customization options available for your brand. Here you will be able to upload your logo, modify the header and footer and add code to override the style sheet.
Applying Your New Theme To Your Account
Once your new brand has been fully customized you will be able to apply it to other accounts in your reseller account. In order to do this, all you have to do is return to the Branding Editor page.
Click on “Live Editor” for the theme you want to update. You can select:
“Apply To My Account” will update all the reseller accounts in your cPanel.
“Apply To All Accounts”, which will update all the accounts that have been created in your cPanel.
“Set Default For New Accounts”, which will apply your new branding style to, as any new accounts that are created will reflect this look.
