What is the SpamScan cPanel/WHM Plugin?

SpamScan analyzes the IP addresses used by your mail server to send out email messages, and checks them against 18 major DNS Relay Blackhole Lists or “RBLs”. If your server is listed on an RBL list you may experience issues with emails becoming blocked, returned, or delayed.

How Much is SpamScan?

SpamScan is $4.00/month or FREE with a new, active, and currently paid cPanel license from BuycPanel.com!

Server Requirements

Server side:
Ioncube & CURL for cPanel’s internal PHP (Install through WHM and EasyApache!)
Perl module Net::DNS required. To install it just run “/scripts/perlinstaller Net::DNS”

cPanel/WHM: 11.54+
PHP: 7.2+

PHP: 5.3+ OR
PHP: 5.2

Client side:

All of the most recent versions of Firefox, Safari, Chrome and IE9+

Installation Instructions
Step 1: Run wget in the instructions below to download directly to your server, OR download the SpamScan file (Click file at bottom of webpage to download)

Upload file to the server (any folder)
wget -c https://www.buycpanel.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/SpamScan_v4.1.1.tar.gz

tar xvfz SpamScan_v4.1.1.tar.gz
cd SpamScan_v4.1.1

Make sure to enter the license key you received from BuycPanel.com to activate the product.

  • For example: “SC-9999aa99aaa999a”

Wait 60 seconds for install to complete.
That’s it! Resource Monitor is now installed in WHM!
NOTE: Wait for at least 48 hours to see you cPanel/WHM usage statistical reports. Resource Monitor is automatically added to your server’s Cron.
To access Resource Monitor check the plugins section of your WHM by logging into WHM then clicking PLUGINS in the “HOME” WHM screen, then Resource Monitor.

Uninstallation Instructions:
cd SpamScan_v*
run ./uninstall.sh

General Usage:

Overview – Inside the SpamScan WHM plugin, this tab allows you to see a general overview of the RBL (mail blocking list) status for each of the IP addresses registered on your server.  Click on the IP address to view RBL server details.

Settings – Inside the SpamScan WHM plugin, this tab allows you to specify whether or not a specific IP address is scanned by the RBL scanner.  It also allows you to choose whether or not to display RBL IP address status to your customers within their individual cPanels or not.   Sometimes hosting customers would like to show their customers their servers are “spam free” and not listed on an RBLs.

License – Inside the SpamScan WHM plugin, this tab allows you to change your SpamScan license key.
