Is there a way to Implement Authentications Beyond Password Verification?

Introduction
One needs to navigate to (WHM >> Home >> Security >> Two-Factor Authentication) for working on this feature. This feature helps in configuring two-factor authentication (2FA). Steps To Customize Issuer Setting For 2FA

  1. Firstly click on the Settings tab.
  2. Then enter the desired value for the Issuer setting, or one can retain the default value.
  3. Finally, click on Save.

Manage Users

Steps For Removing 2FA On A User Account

To remove a single user account on the Manage Users list, one has to click on Disable to the right of the user account, and if multiple user accounts, follow the following steps:

  1. Firstly, select the Manage Users tab.
  2. One can either select the checkboxes that needs to be removed from the left of each user account, or select the checkbox to the left of the User heading to select all of them.
  3. Lastly, one can click on the gear icon available on the top right of the list. Final step would be to select Disable Selected.

Steps For Enabling 2FA On A User Account

For this, one has to log in to the cPanel interface and navigate to cPanel’s Two-Factor Authentication interface (cPanel >> Home >> Security >> Two-Factor Authentication) as the user. One can read our Guide to API Authentication  documentation for gathering more information.

Configure 2FA

Steps

  1. Firstly, click on Set Up Two-Factor Authentication.
  2. Then one has to create a link between one’s cPanel account and 2FA app for creating the link automatically, scan the displayed QR code with your app so as to create the link, enter the provided Account and Key information in your app manually.
  3. Then, one has to retrieve the six-digit security code within the 2FA app.
  4. Next, one has to enter the six-digit security code in the Security Code text box.
  5. Finally, click on Configure Two-Factor Authentication.

Remove 2FA

For this, click on Remove Two-Factor Authentication and your work is done.

Reconfigure 2FA

For this, click on Reconfigure. Then, repeat the steps of configuring 2FA and your work is done.
