One needs to navigate to (WHM >> Home >> Security >> Two-Factor Authentication) for working on this feature. This feature helps in configuring two-factor authentication (2FA). It is an improved security measure for the login interface of cPanel & WHM. It needs two forms of identification:
After enabling 2FA, an application on one’s smartphone will supply a code that must be entered with one’s password in order to log in. Without one’s smartphone, this cannot log in. One can read Wikipedia’s Two-Factor Authentication article for gathering more knowledge on 2FA.
If it is disabled, then one can enable it by clicking the toggle in order to change it to On and enable 2FA, provided that one is a root user.
To remove a single user account on the Manage Users list, one has to click on Disable to the right of the user account, and if multiple user accounts, follow the following steps:
For this, one has to log in to the cPanel interface and navigate to cPanel’s Two-Factor Authentication interface (cPanel >> Home >> Security >> Two-Factor Authentication) as the user. One can read our Guide to API Authentication documentation for gathering more information.
For this, click on Remove Two-Factor Authentication and your work is done.
For this, click on Reconfigure. Then, repeat the steps of configuring 2FA and your work is done.
All information about authentications is outlined in this review.
