Many cPanel account users prefer to use and install WordPress as their choice of CMS for their websites not only because of its functionality but also because it is easy to set up and install using cPanel.
To guide you on how to install WordPress using cPanel software, simply follow the step by step instructions given below.
Step 1: To start the WordPress installation, log in to your cPanel account.
Note: It is recommended to create a cPanel backup of your current files and data before you begin installation so that you can restore your server to its original settings in case you made a mistake during the installation.
Step 2: In your cPanel homepage screen, locate the “Web Applications” section.
Step 3: In the Web Applications section, select the “WordPress Blog” option.
Step 4: After selecting the WordPress Blog option, click the “Install this application” button that appears on the screen.
Step 5: cPanel will now redirect you to a screen where it will require you to enter the following information.
Note: leave this field blank if you want to make WordPress the website for the selected domain name.
Step 6: In the same screen where you entered the information above, choose the WordPress version that you want to install on your cPanel server.
Note: It is recommended to use all the default settings that are currently listed in the fields provided. You should opt for the Two-Factor Authentication options to make sure that your site will be more secure and protected from unauthorized access.
It is important to take note of the settings that you select from this screen (especially the administrator username and password).
Step 7: Select your preferred advanced options settings, such as cPanel backup options and database management settings.
Step 8: After entering the required fields, click the “Install” button to begin the WordPress installation.
After the WordPress installation is complete, you can access the WordPress CMS for your site by entering the domain name selected + /wp=admin in your web browsers.
