Posted by Allura on 30 05 2018.

Brief Introduction of Daily Process Log

Daily Process Log is a feature of cPanel which displays information about the processing power and memory which the server consumes. The processes which generally run on the server depend on the following factors:

  • The configuration of your WHM.
  • The daemons and applications which have been installed.
  • The daemons and applications which have been installed by the user.

How to use Select the Day?

Yesterday’s, today’s, and tomorrow’s dates are displayed at the top of the interface. The appropriate link has to be clicked to view information for a date.

Steps for Usage by User

The usage for each user on the server is displayed by The Usage by User table. Which users use the most resources on your server can be checked by using this table.

This table includes the following columns:

Column Description
User The name of the user.
Domain The primary domain for the user.

Note:

The domains for users are displayed by the column and the column is empty when the user is a daemon or a system user.

%CPU The average daily percentage of the CPU’s processing power that the user consumes.
%MEM The average daily percentage of RAM that the user consumes.

Top Processes in Daily Process Log

The individual processes that consumed the most CPU that day are shown by the Top Processes table. Top process may only run for a few seconds , or for much longer. As a result, a significant percentage of the resources may not be consumed by the top process on the server for a specified day.

This table includes the following columns:

Column Description Notes
User The name of the user who runs the process. If you login as the root user, root  is displayed by the column for any processes that you initiate.
Domain The user’s primary domain. The column only displays domains for users that are  cPanel accounts. The column is empty when the user is a daemon or a system user.
%CPU The highest percentage of the CPU that this process used. 19% CPU  is displayed by a column for a process which  ran for three seconds and it used the following amounts of processing power:

●        1% CPU in the first second.

●        19% CPU in the second.

●        3% CPU in the third second.

Process The process, as it appears in the process list.

Concluding Note

Daily Process Log is an integral part of cPanel as it gives the information about the processing power and memory which is consumed on the server. This document gives a insight into the description of usage by the user and processes used in this feature.
