This is for cPanel and WHM version 68. One can navigate to (cPanel >> Home >> Email >> Autoresponders) for working on this feature. Autoresponder  allows in configuring automatic email response messages. In a way this can be useful, especially when the recipient is not available.

It is to note that the system will deliver messages to the inbox in its usual way when one activates an autoresponder.

Interestingly, by performing a few technical steps, one can not only add or update an automated Email Responder Message, but also add/configure and delete an automatic Email response (Webmail) as well.

Add an Autoresponder in Webmail

Steps:

  • Firstly, one has to log in to one’s Webmail interface at https://example.com:2096
  • Then, one has to select Autoresponders from the user@example.com menu, available at the top right corner of the interface.
  • Then, click on Add Autoresponder.
  • A character set needs to be selected in which the email needs to be sent from the options, available in the Character Set text box.
  • The interval, in terms of hours, needs to be entered for the autoresponder to wait between responses to that same email address.
  • In the From text box, one has to enter one’s own name.
  • The subject of the message needs to be then entered in the Subject text box.
  • One can select the HTML checkbox, in case one desires the email to display the HTML code.
  • This kind of statement can be provided as the body of the message:

I am out of the office until July 2nd. You can reach me on my cell phone in case of emergencies.

  • Then a start time needs to be selected.
  • In the same way, a stop time also needs to be selected.
  • Finally, one can click on Create/Modify in order to save the autoresponder.

Hence, this autoresponse will be received by all email messages on one’s email account, until and unless removed.

Remove an Autoresponder

It may happen that a user does not want to keep a particular autoresponder and wants to remove/delete it. In order to remove an autoresponder, one can click on Delete available next to the autoresponder and delete the autoresponder which the user does not wish to keep. At the end, click on Delete Autoresponder.

Conclusion

There are certain technical steps to add and delete an autoresponder, which is outlined in this review.
