How do I Restrict one or more IP Addresses to Access my Website?

Block an IP Address

If one enters IP addresses directly into the .htaccess file, enter them in CIDR format only.

If one wishes to deny access to an IP address or range of IP addresses, perform the following steps:

  1. In the IP Address or Domain text box enter the IP address or range. One can easily enter IP addresses in any of the following formats:
  • A single IP address (for example, 10.5.3.333).
  • Range (for example, 10.5.3.3-10.5.3.40).
  • Implied range (for example, 10.5.3.3-40).
  • CIDR format (for example, 10.5.3.3/32).
  • Implied IP address (for example, 10.).
  1. Click on Add.

Currently-Blocked IP Addresses

The IP address ranges that you enter is separated by the system, into subnets in CIDR format. Thereafter, the addresses will be added to the .htaccess file, by the system.

The interface lists blocked IP addresses and ranges within the table in CIDR format, wherever the subsequent data is declared as true:

  • The CIDR-formatted IP address range is represented by the Server Setting.
  • The Beginning IP represents the begging of the range.
  • The Ending IP represents the end of the range.

For example, if you enter the range 208.74.124.96-208.74.124.128, the Currently-Blocked IP Addresses table will show details similar to the following table:

Unblock an IP Address

Removal of an IP address from the list of blocked IP addresses requires the following steps:

  1. In the Actions column, click on Delete for the appropriate IP address.
  2. Click on Remove IP.
