Activating Cloudflare on your domain means your website will direct its traffic through the Cloudflare global network. This means that your content will be served by Cloudflare’s data centers and any unwanted traffic will be filtered out. Your website will be more secure, load faster and impress your online customers with its polished performance.
Cloudflare is quick and simple to activate in WHM. Let’s take a look at how.
First you’ll need to log into your cPanel and find the Cloudflare plugin inside the Software area.
Click on the icon and you will arrive at the log in page. If you already have an account you can enter your credentials here. If you don’t, click on the Sign Up button under the Log in panel.
Cloudflare will take over from here and create your account that connects you to its client service.
You can choose where you want to administer your account: you can do it directly from cPanel or log into the CloudFlare control panel.
Registering On The Cloudflare Network
On registration Cloudflare will have entered your domain name into the domain overview area. Note: you will have to activate it by clicking on the Provision Domain with CName Setup prompt.
If you are successful the domain status will update to Active. Cloudflare’s cloud icon will turn orange above yourdomain.com CNAME and yourdomain.com entries.
Any subdomains listed with grey clouds are not yet active on the Cloudflare network and will need to be activated. You can do this by clicking on the grey clouds.
Please Take Careful Note
The Cloudflare service can only be used when the site is visited through www. In order to make use of the benefits of Cloudflare and ensure your site is only loaded from the location closest to the user your site must be configured to redirect to www.
How To Manage www Redirection
It is possible to manage the redirection through Cloudflare. Log into your Cloudflare account using your Sign Up credentials. Then click on Activate Free in the Domain Without Cloudflare area. Then type in your email address on the prompt and confirm whether you want your site to be redirected to www.
