The Contact Information Options

There are ten options under the Contact Information menu, including the following:

  1. Enter one or more email addresses to contact in case a problem arises with this server.

Put in an alternate email address in this section so that, in the event you encounter problems, you will receive notifications via this address.

Fail to enter an email address here, and the system will notify the root user about the following:

  • Notifications for installers
  • Notifications for upcp (updates)
  • Notifications for new accounts created as well as those already terminated.
  • Errors originating from the script: check_cpanel_rpms.
  • Notifications regarding failed service (such as daemon and IMAP).

  1. Enter one or more cellular phone or pager email addresses to message via email in case a problem arises with this server.

This serves the similar function as the one above, except that you will receive the notifications via a cell phone address in the event problems arise.

  1. The AIM username that this server should use for login to AIM when sending alerts.

Put in a username your server can log into the AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) so that the system will notify you about problems via this method.

  1. The AIM username password for sending alerts.

This serves as the password for the AIM username you entered. Keep in mind that this is case sensitive, and that you should create a strong password for enhanced security.

  1. AIM names (comma delimited) to notify in case a problem arises with this server.

You can use several AIM names for your accounts. You just have to separate them using commas.

  1. An API Token for the PushBullet API.

You will receive notifications about problems when you put in a list of Access Tokens for the Pushbullet™ accounts separated by commas.

  1. A comma-separated list of http:// or https:// urls where the system sends POST notifications as form data with the keys “hostname”, “subject”, and “body”.

Here, key in a URL where you want to send notifications from a ticket system or a form handler. The alert the system sends out automatically includes relevant data, including the parameter’s hostname, subject, and body.

When you want to use other parameters, just add the keys after the URL. Separate these keys ad values with & (ampersand character).

  1. The ICQ ID that this server should use for login to ICQ when sending alerts.

Put here an ICQ number where you want your server to send notifications in case problems will arise.

  1. The ICQ ID password for sending alerts.

This pertains to the created password for the ICQ number you just entered above.

  1. Enter one or more ICQ user identification numbers (comma delimited) you can be reached at in case a problem arises with this server.

You can use multiple ICQ IDs; you just have to separate them using commas.
