Account Suspension in cPanel

A Brief Introduction to Account Suspension Interface
On suspension of a cPanel account it stopes all the processes owned. After suspension of an account it does not allow the users to send any mail using the mail server. Then the user of a suspended account will not be able to send mails as the mail server will force all the mails initially to the outbound message queue.

This system updates an apache file http.conf with a virtual host file for the user. This file will be formed at usr/local/apache/conf/includes/account_suspensions.conf and will comprise a RedirctMatch file. Now this file will be forwarded to a default template page for the suspended accounts.

Then, the system modifies the permission of public_ftp directory of a user to ####. And eventually this generates a /etc/proftpd/user.suspended file which locks the account’s FTP passwords in the /etc/proftpd/passwd.vhosts and /etc/proftpd/user password files. The Key Limitations of this Interface

You will be restricted to change the password of the account after your account is suspended. On suspension of an account the system adds a special character to the font of the cPanel user’s password field. An invalid hash will be created, which will send an invalid password message to the cPanel user and will be generated to a suspended account interface.

How to Suspend an Account?

In order to suspend an account, just go through the following steps:

  • Click on the account that you desire to suspend.
  • Then go to the account function and from there select the account suspension option.
  • Then just enter a reason in the text box.
  • Then select the dedicated button to suspend that account.

How to Unsuspend an Account?

In order to unsuspend an account, just go through the following steps:

  • Click on the account that you desire to unsuspend.
  • Then go to the account function and from there select the account suspension option.
  • Then select the dedicated button to unsuspend that account.

Other options, to unsuspend an account being an account holder by logging in to WHM. In there just go to the manage account suspension option then select your suspended account highlighted in pink. Then simply select unsuspend option for the desired account.

In other way you can also unsuspend your account and that is you will have to select list suspended account under account function option and then simply click the unsuspend option next to your account’s primary domain or username.
