Losing all of your files in your computer or server is one of the most problematic, hassling, and aggravating thing that can happen to your online business. Especially if you have realized that there is no way to retrieve lost the files—be it stolen, corrupted, or hacked. With this, the Backup section of your cPanel can be of great use. This article will show you the importance of this tool and how to use it to protect your valuable data. Read on.

What the Backup feature has in store for you

This utility has a lot to offer in terms of recovering and keeping your website as a whole. Below is a list of what Backup can do.

  1. It automatically downloads your website to a particular area that you want to have it backed up—be it daily, weekly, or monthly—you choose, really.
  2. It can create a backup of your entire website—from web pages to videos to images to scripts to texts. However, bear in mind that downloading the entire site may take a while depending on its size.

Warning: Do not just rely simply on one backup in your storage device. You can never tell how powerful hackers can be every day. With this, it is best to keep several backups in different locations in your computer or your storage device in order to avoid losing your valuables again.

  2. Click the Daily, Weekly, or Monthly link and choose which time would you want to download the backup of your site’s entire system. Or you could also click the button underneath the field to start downloading an SQL, Alias, or Filter file.
  3. You can also download previously stored backups by going to the Generate/Download a Full Backup area and click any backup on your list.
  4. Save the file to your disk. And that’s it.
