1/07/2015 – Resolve a Park Wrapper Error

Posted by Jamison on 07 01 2015.

Have you ever come across a Park Wrapper error when trying to add an add-on domain, or a parked domain to your account? What exactly is a Park Wrapper error and how do you deal with them?

A Park Wrapper error is usually related to when you try to add or remove a domain from the server. The cause for this error is almost always related to a DNS issue, usually a stuck zone record or something of that nature. cPanel should be able to give you more details about the problem when the error occurs.

Here are some common Park Wrapper errors and the fixes for them:

Error from park wrapper: is already configured

This means that a DNS Zone File already exists for the domain you are trying to create. If you have WHM, simply go to Delete a DNS Zone and remove the domain name you are trying to add. If this still doesn’t work, contact your webhosting service provider.

Error from park wrapper: You cannot park your main domain

This error means that you are trying to add your primary domain to the wrong place; that place being your control panel. Your primary domain has already been added to your control panel by default. If your primary domain is still not working, it is because of something else.

Error from park wrapper: Using nameservers with the following IPs…. Sorry, the domain is already pointed to an IP address that does not appear to use DNS servers associated with this server

This error usually happens when you forgot to point the domain name to the server before you added it. To fix this error you have to contact your webhost service provider.

Error from park wrapper: Unable to find out which user owns the parked domain

This error is usually received when attempting to remove a parked domain name. To solve this error message, just follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Go to the Add-on Domains section of cPanel.
  3. Add the domain name, it will error out.
  4. Go the Parked Domains section of cPanel and remove the domain name.

Error from park wrapper: is owned by another user

This means the domain name has already been taken and is already being hosted on your server with someone with a different user account. If you want confirmation of this, contact your webhosting service provider. They should be able to verify this.

Error from park wrapper: Sorry, you are not allowed to add any more than (0) parked domains

This means you are on a plan that only allows one domain name per cPanel account. This is normal if you are on the Hatchling plan. However if you have the Baby plan or the Business plan, this should not be the case and you need to contact your webhost service provider. If you are on a cPanel Reseller, VPS, or Dedicated plans, you should be able to control this feature and be able raise the limit of parked domains.
